Instagram Adds Low-Light Button to Stories Feature

The button allows users to take better photos and videos in low light conditions.

Instagram released an update for its iOS application, which adds a “low-light button” to its Instagram Stories feature. The button allows users to take better photos and videos in low-light conditions.

With this update, when the Instagram Stories camera is active, a new moon button will appear when the camera detects darkness. When users tap the button, the camera’s settings will automatically adjust so that pictures and videos taken in low light will have better lighting.

To be clear, this low-light button is currently only available when taking photos and videos to share on Instagram Stories, and it isn’t available when using the app’s “regular” camera.

Instagram released its Stories feature in early August.
