Halloween dominated the Hot Topics charts for Facebook and Instagram in October, according to Facebook IQ.
Trick or treating was joined by National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Diwali among holidays and events on both platforms.
Major League Baseball’s World Series was the hottest sports topics on both platforms, but even more so on Facebook. The National Basketball Association’s Los Angeles Lakers and World Wrestling Entertainment star Brock Lesnar also heated up Facebook, while Instagrammers chatted up the National Football League’s San Francisco 49ers.
The entertainment category on Facebook last month was paced by Ellen DeGeneres and Joaquin Phoenix, while Phoenix and Lizzie McGuire led Instagram.
