Fox Rejects AshleyMadison's Super Bowl Ad

Adultery-promoting Web site AshleyMadison.com is feeling rejected. The site claims that Fox rejected its proposed commercial for the upcoming Super Bowl because it features a porn star (who reportedly keeps her clothes on for most of the spot).Fox is not one to shy away from controversy. Last season, it didn't interfere when Seth MacFarlane delivered an episode of American Dad that featured a horse being masturbated by one of the show's regular cast members.But apparently, Fox has a bias toward porn stars. At least, that's the view of AshleyMadison CEO Noel Biderman, who said that the network offered no other explanation than that the ad didn't meet the net's standards for acceptability. Biderman also lashed out at the NFL: "Now that so many adult film stars, including Jenna Jameson and Sasha Gray, have crossed over into the mainstream, it's disappointing that the NFL continues to discriminate against them. I wonder if they're planning on restricting Ben Roethlisberger from playing or Rex Ryan from coaching in the big game?" Biderman was referring to alleged instances of sexual assault on the part of the Pittsburgh quarterback, who was suspended by the league for four games this season. There were also reports that Ryan is into foot fetishism.A Fox representative would nether confirm not deny that the spot had been rejected. “If an advertiser wishes to submit an ad for consideration, we will review it to determine if it is appropriate for air. However, we do not provide information about materials that may or may not have been submitted for review, nor do we discuss our broadcast standards policies,” the rep said.AshleyMadison put the rejected spot on YouTube, and said it is considering buying ads on local affiliates during the game.
