FCC Launches New Website: Government 2.0 or 2.0 Lite?

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has unveiled the beta version of its new website FCC.gov with an emphasis on consumer use and interactivity. It’s new, it’s splashy and it uses key words like “blog” and “citizen engagement platforms.” But is it really ‘government 2.0’ we can believe in?

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has unveiled the beta version of its new website FCC.gov with an emphasis on consumer use and interactivity.  It’s new, it’s splashy and it uses key words like “blog” and “citizen engagement platforms.”  But is it really ‘government 2.0’ we can believe in?

Introducing Beta.FCC.gov:  the redesign of the website for the federal agency that is, after all, charged with managing the nation’s communications.

The FCC’s redesign, the first change to the site since 2001, was reportedly a six-months long process that included analyzing more than 10,000 comments, studying Google Analytics, and training more than 140 workers – all at a cost of $1.35
