Facebook’s Financial Results and User Totals Showed No Signs of a Controversy-Filled 2018

Q4 revenue rose 30 percent year-over year and monthly active users were up 9 percent

Facebook managed to survive a nonstop barrage of controversies throughout 2018 and post strong financial results for the fourth quarter and full year.

The company reported $16.914 billion in revenue in the fourth quarter of 2018, up 30 percent compared with the year-ago period and far exceeding analysts’ consensus expectations of $16.4 billion.

Revenue for the full year of $55.013 billion was up 38 percent from the 2017 total of $39.942 billion.
