Facebook’s Portal and Portal+ video-calling devices will be made available in more countries, starting with Canada and eventually heading across the pond to Europe this fall.

End-to-end encryption is also coming to all calls on Portal, which can be made via Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp.

The two devices are getting some new features, as well.

Starting this summer, users will be able to say, “Hey Portal, Good Morning,” in order to receive updates on things like birthdays and events.

The ability to send private video messages via Portal is being added, too.

Facebook and Amazon are working to bring more visual features and Alexa skills to Portal, including Flash Briefings, smart home control and the Amazon Prime Video application.

Livestreaming via Facebook Live is being added to Portal.

Finally, photos from Instagram and from users’ camera rolls can now be added to SuperFrame, the feature on Portal and Portal+ that displays users’ favorite photos when they are not using the device for calling.
