Facebook’s F8 2019 Is Set for April 30 and May 1

The social network’s annual developer conference has not been shy on big announcements in the past

McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, Calif., will once again host F8 Facebook

F8 2019, Facebook’s annual developer conference, will be held at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, Calif., April 30 and May 1.

Information and updates are available via the event’s website, where developers can also opt to be notified when registration opens.

Major announcements are the norm at the social network’s annual confab:

  • 2018: The social network revealed that it was testing a dating feature and began enabling third-party applications to share content to Stories on Facebook and Instagram.
  • 2017: Augmented reality was the headline-grabber at this conference, along with updates to Facebook Login.
  • 2016: Messenger bots were officially introduced.
  • 2015: Messenger Platform was rolled out and businesses were welcomed to the social network’s flagship messaging application.
  • 2014: Mobile advertising network Facebook Audience Network was unveiled after much speculation.

Facebook vice president of partnerships Ime Archibong wrote in a blog post, “This year, we celebrate the developers, creators, entrepreneurs and innovators building with our platform and tools. There will be networking opportunities, deep-dive sessions and product demos, all showcasing how technology can enable the best of what people can do together.”
