Facebook launched its Marketplace feature last October, enabling users to list and browse items for sale. The social network shared some Marketplace facts and figures Wednesday.

More than 18 million new items were posted for sale to Marketplace in the U.S. in May, Facebook said in an email to Social Pro Daily.

The most popular categories on Marketplace are furniture; babies and kids; and women’s clothing and shoes, according to the social network.

Facebook added that the buying and selling experiences triggered by Marketplace have led to growth of 77 percent in users who may not have otherwise connected.
