Facebook Live Videos Are Being Added to Messenger Rooms

Up to 50 people can take part

Two of Facebook’s most widely used features during the coronavirus pandemic are being combined, as the social network began rolling out a way to start Facebook Live videos from Messenger Rooms.

The social network said Facebook Live broadcasts from pages doubled in June compared with June 2019, with much of that increase starting up in March as the pandemic took hold.

The integration of the two features enables users to host live broadcasts with up to 50 people.

People can create a Room directly from Facebook or Messenger on the web and invite anyone to join, whether or not they have a Facebook account.
