Air Fryers, Bangladeshi Food Are Heating Up as Topics to Watch on Facebook

Discussion about air fryers and related topics was dominated by women, particularly those between the ages of 34 and 49

Air fryers have exploded (thankfully, not literally) onto the scene, with Facebook IQ finding that mentions of the healthier frying alternative, which cooks in less time and uses less oil, were up 314.6 times in January compared with January 2016.

Facebook users must have been hungry in January, as Bangladeshi cuisine was another Topic to Watch on the social network, posting a 12.4 times year-over-year growth in conversation.

Discussion about air fryers and related topics—calorie, chicken, cooking, cooking oil, eating, food, French fries, frying, potatoes, turkey fryer—was dominated by women, particularly those between the ages of 34 and 49.

Meanwhile, women 25 through 34 drove mentions of Bangladeshi cuisine—along with Bangladesh, beef, candy, chili pepper, curry, food, Indian food, lime, mango and Thai food—on the social network in January.
