Facebook launched its Women in Gaming initiative in February with the goal of giving women in the video-game industry a place to connect and share their stories.
Now, the social network is working with documentary company Artifact Studios to help launch a series of documentaries called Girls Level Up, which were designed to inspire teen girls to become video-game makers.
In these videos, girls ask questions about game development, such as, “How do you come up with an idea for a video game?,” and, “What programming language should I learn?,” and those questions are answered by female video-game developers.
At the end of each video, viewers are encouraged to visit the Girls Level Up website, where they can learn more about video-game development.
