Facebook is testing its Reactions feature in Messenger, complete with a thumbs-down emoji

OK, so it’s still not a dislike button, but Facebook is testing the addition of Reactions to its Messenger application, and a thumbs-down emoji is one of the offerings.

Designer, writer and product executive Hoan Do shared the screenshots above and below with Josh Constine of TechCrunch, and the social network confirmed the test to Constine, saying:

We’re always testing ways to make Messenger more fun and engaging. This is a small test where we enable people to share an emoji that best represents their feelings on a message.

According to Constine, users who are part of the test group can hover over messages from friends to bring up the emoji menu, and uses of those emoji are tallied in a counter.
