Facebook Detailed Its Hurricane Dorian Efforts

Matching donations, adding Local Alerts partners, sharing Disaster Maps

Facebook will match up to $500,000 in donations made to the American Red Cross via its platform for relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Dorian.

The social network said its pledge covers donations made via its Crisis Response page for Hurricane Dorian, as well as via its Donate button atop News Feed.

The Hurricane Dorian Crisis Response page can also be used to find information, and to offer or request assistance.

The social network also added 127 Local Alerts partners in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas, enabling the pages of local governments or first responders to quickly share information.
