Facebook CTO Leaving Company This Summer
Plans to launch startup with Google exec
Facebook CTO Bret Taylor announced on Friday afternoon in a post to the social network that he’ll be leaving the company this summer to launch a startup with Google’s senior software engineer Kevin Gibbs.
No word yet on what Taylor and Gibbs’ company will focus on, but the duo’s previous work experience suggest it may be related to working with app developers. As a group product manager at Google, Taylor had built the company's developer product team and launched its now-annual developer conference, according to his LinkedIn profile.
