The key to picking a good analytics tool is to first ask yourself about your goals. What is it that you are trying to learn and how will you use that learning to adjust your course of action? Data collection can become overwhelming and if its not actionable: in fact, too much information may plunge you into a state of analysis paralysis. I wanted to know which analytics service would give me the information I need to actually make profitable decisions, and therefore I recently sat down and analyzed four key analytics offerings: Kontagent, Mixpanel, KISSMetrics and Google Analytics.
