Dalai Lama Says a Female Successor Must Be 'Very Attractive'

The figurehead of the Buddhist religion and Tibetan monks made a pretty sexist remark.

With the pontiff shaking hands and blessing babies in the nation’s capital, Americans are thinking more religiously, as well as people around the world. So, it’s suitable that not only is Pope Francis making news, but the Dalai Lama is too.

Regretfully, the figurehead of the Buddhist religion and Tibetan monks is making news for his borderline sexist remarks.

During an otherwise harmless interview with the BBC’s Clive Myrie, the 14th Dalai Lama, 80, was asked about the possibility of the reincarnation of a female Dalai Lama.
