Arizona State University journalism student Courtney Pedroza has a winning way when it comes to capturing the local skies.
Her fall 2013 coverage for the Downtown Devil of some local monsoon storm activity won awards the following year from both the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and the Society of Professional Journalists. For another one of her outlets, AZ Big Media, she showcased a stunning desert sunset shot. And this month, a similar twilight photo from Pedroza adorns the cover of Phoenix magazine.
