Clear iSpot 4G-to-WiFi Router Only Works with Apple iOS Devices Unless it is Unlocked

I found MobilitySite’s summary of Clear’s announcement quite interesting:

Clear announces the iSpot

The iSpot 4G-to-WiFi router device costs $99.99 and unlimited data service is $25 per month. That is quite attractive compared to the usual $60 per month associated with Verizon’s MiFi (3G) and Sprint’s OverDrive (3G/4G). There must be a catch right? There is. Here’s what arstechnica notes:

Why Clear’s 4G iSpot is cheap: it’s limited to iOS devices

There really isn’t a burning need for 4G service for the iPhone.
