Bruce Jenner effectively completed his gender transformation today—at least in the public sense—when the former Olympian appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair with the headline, "Call me Caitlyn."

Under her new identity, Caitlyn Jenner then got her own Twitter handle, @Caitlyn_Jenner, where she picked up 144,000 followers in the first 40 minutes, nearly matching the 180,000 followers President Barack Obama gained in his first 40 minutes on the site two weeks ago when he launched @POTUS.
