This has been a year for the dogs—really rough (ruff?). But Budweiser and social channel @WeRateDogs hope to bring some holiday cheer for lucky dog owners with a contest to get their pup on a Budweiser can.
Imagine being able to drink a frothy brew with your own canine on the label. That’s the present Budweiser is aiming to give dog parents with its #Pupweiser contest.
As an example of what it could look like, Budweiser featured its own dalmatian, Brewski, on one of its cans as part of the brewer’s limited-edition multipack.
The brewer also mocked one up with the mascot of WeRateDogs, a wide-eyed good puppy who, like you, may look forward to 2020 ending soon.
Fans are asked to paw their way to Budweiser’s Facebook post with a pic of their pup or tweet #Pupweiser with their dog’s photo. Budweiser will then select winners at random to receive a Budweiser holiday can personalized with their very own dog. And if they want to win holiday gifting for the century, they are encouraged to send in a pic of a family member’s or friend’s pup.
Budweiser will alert winners via social media. Some social fans have already received images of their pets on a can by uploading their four-legged friends.
Other images on the limited-edition cans are winter scenes with the Budweiser Clydesdales pulling the signature sled.
This isn’t Budweiser’s first foray into custom cans this year. The brand recently pushed to make its beer the official brew of Utah, with promo cans featuring the state’s most notable landmarks.
