Tiger Beat Editor Recalls Those John Stamos Days

Anne Raso worked at the magazine from 1983 to 1985

Today, Anne Raso edits the blog Luxe Life NYC and also contributes to website Classic Rock Revisited. But back in 1983, she was the brand new associate editor at Tiger Beat magazine, part of a small staff of seven working out of offices in Creskill, N.J.

In a very fun look back for Gothamist, Raso recalls the lingering effect of John Lennon’s murder on access to celebrities, as well as a certain doyenne of the magazine. Editorial director Sharon Lee had great stories about David Cassidy and Henry Winkler, as well as a word of warning regarding John Stamos:

She made it clear from the beginning that Stamos was not going to cooperate with us on stories.
