American Express Serves Tennis Court Pop-Up Ahead of US Open's Marketing Return

Financial services company takes a more flexible approach to experiential

American Express is inviting tennis fans to channel their inner Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic at six pop-up courts along the Hudson River in Manhattan in advance of this month’s kickoff of the U.S. Open tournament in Flushing, Queens.

The promotion is part of a mix of on-site and off-site experiences for the two-week program of tennis matches Amex is hosting as the U.S. Open returns to full audience capacity. Ticket sales were canceled last year due to the pandemic.
