Amazon Launches Cloud Drive – 5GB of Free Online Storage

So Amazon launched Cloud Drive, its new cloud storage service, this morning. It comes with 5GB of  free storage for MP3 or AAC files, and you can upgrade that to 20GB of free storage by buying one MP3 album from Amazon. The service comes with a free web based music player and a free Android app. Amazon is also offering paid storage plans if you need more space.

The question that should be at the top of your thoughts is this: how long until the lawsuits start flying? Every other music locker service has been sued into oblivion; how does Amazon expect to survive the lawsuits? We’ll have to wait and see.
