The 65th Miss Universe was crowned Sunday night, and 34 million related tweets were sent during the event.
Pratiksha Rao, who works on content partnerships for the social network, said in a blog post that the pageant marked one of the highest tweet volumes generated during a live event, adding that the three most-talked-about contestants Sunday night were:
- Chalita Suansane, Thailand
- Maxine Medina, Philippines
- Raissa Santana, Brazil
The most-tweeted-about moments during the 65th Miss Universe event were:
- The end of the evening gown round
- The end of the interview round
- Miss Kenya asked about President Donald Trump during the interview round
- The end of the swimsuit round
- The announcement of the top six contestants
