The final numbers for the premiere of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert are in, and it looks like the late-night ad windfall CBS was waiting for has indeed arrived.

Colbert's impressive Late Show debut was watched by 6.55 million people Tuesday night and notched a 1.4 rating among adults ages 18 to 49. That topped the combined ratings for his two new broadcast competitors—NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (2.92 million, 0.9 rating) and ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live (1.75
