LinkedIn Comes Out Strong in First Quarterly Report

Revenue up big, but engagement questions linger

It might have been a dark day for the rest of Wall Street, but not so for LinkedIn, which announced impressive results Thursday about its first quarter as a public company.

The professional social networking site, which made its public debut in May, reported strong growth in revenue, membership, and visitors for the second quarter.

Revenue for the quarter jumped 120 percent from last year to $121 million, membership grew 71 percent to nearly 116 million, and unique visitors climbed 83 percent to 81.8
