Microsoft Names Its New Browser 'Edge,' and the U2 Jokes Are Already Flowing

Last month Microsoft confirmed rumors that it would kill its long-standing default browser, Internet Explorer, and replace it with a better product dubbed "Project Spartan." Well, today at its Build Conference, the brand revealed the real name: Microsoft Edge.

Cue the U2 jokes.

People immediately took to Twitter to say the new name reminded them of the band's famous guitarist, The Edge. Some also said they were curious to try Explorer's sleeker successor, which will be included in Windows 10.
