YouTube Will No Longer Publicly Display Dislikes

YouTube will no longer display dislike counts, but the dislike button will remain a part of the platform.

The Google-owned video site said it began experimenting with the change earlier this year in an effort to protect creators from harassment and insulate them against dislike attacks, when other users drive up the number of dislikes on a video.

YouTube explained in a blog post, “As part of this experiment, viewers could still see and use the dislike button.
