Stock footage impacts so much of the media we see, from everyday advertisements to short between-scene clips in our favorite shows to the cover images on the articles we read. When LGBTQ+ stock images lean towards homogeneous representations, it can cause a domino effect throughout all media that gives a skewed perception of what the LGBTQ+ community actually looks like.
With this in mind, some stock footage companies have begun making major strides towards diversifying their libraries, specifically with the aim of providing a more complete view of LGBTQ+ people.
