Twitter revealed an update to its hateful conduct policy Wednesday covering language that dehumanizes people on the basis of race, ethnicity or national origin.

The social network said tweets similar to the examples pictured above and below must be removed when they are reported.

Twitter will also continue to use proactive detection and automation to surface potentially violative content.

As always, if an account repeatedly violates the Twitter Rules, it can be temporarily locked or suspended.
