Twitter to Appoint Legal Representative in Turkey

Twitter will establish a legal entity in Turkey in order to comply with that country’s recently amended Internet Law No. 5651.

According to that law, social networking platforms based outside of the country that are accessed more than 1 million times per day within Turkey must appoint a person of Turkish nationality and authorize them to receive service of administrative and court orders and respond to other notifications and requests made by service providers under the law.
