Twitter Tests Ways for Users to Untag, Unmention Themselves From Tweets, Conversations

Twitter privacy designer Dominic Camozzi shared some early concepts Twitter is experimenting with in order to help its users control potential unwanted attention on its platform.

Camozzi said the goal was to make it easier for people to untag themselves from tweets or conversations that they do not wish to be involved in.

The social network is testing the addition of an “Unmention yourself from this conversation” option in its more info menu, enabling people to remove links to their profile.

Users would receive a special notification if someone they don’t follow @ mentions them in a tweet.
