Twitter is rolling out an update that enables users to change the settings of who can reply to their tweets midway through a conversation.

The social network rolled out conversation settings last August that gave users the option of letting everyone, only people they follow or only people they mention reply to tweets, but that choice had to be made when the tweet was composed.

A Twitter spokesperson said in email that the update—which is rolling out globally for Android, iOS and the web—could benefit people who tweet things that receive unwanted attention and unwanted replies.
