Twitter’s ongoing mission to improve the presentation of conversations on its platform went the acquisition route Friday with the social network’s acquisition of Squad, an application that enables users to share text, video and their screens.

The Squad squad will join Twitter’s design, engineering and product teams, and the app will shut down Saturday (Dec. 12).

Co-founder and CEO Esther Crawford was one of the first YouTube creators to land a six-figure brand sponsorship, and she held senior product marketing roles with companies including Circle, Coach.me
