Tumblr Users Plan to Tap the Platform During Black History Month

Nearly 70% of Generation Z survey respondents said they will share, seek out or support social activism

Nearly 70% of Tumblr users plan to use the platform to share, seek out or support social activism during Black History Month.

Tumblr polled more than 1,500 of its users who identify as Generation Z for its Tumblr for Change survey, and it also found that:

  • Over 75% of respondents said social platform were important in their activism journey and their support of Black Lives Matter last year, with nearly 40% calling them very important.
  • 72% of respondents said they gained a better understanding of Black history, race-related issues and social activism this past year due to Tumblr, while 74% said the platform and its community made them feel more connected to those issues.
