TikTok released its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the first quarter of 2022, which included details on the platform’s response to the war in Ukraine.

From Feb. 24, when Russia invaded Ukraine, through the end of the first quarter (March 31), TikTok’s safety team dedicated to the Ukraine war removed 41,191 videos, 87% of them for violating its policies against harmful misinformation and 78% of them identified proactively.

TikTok said its fact-checking partners helped assess 13,738 videos worldwide, and prompts were affixed to 5,600 videos informing viewers that their content could not be verified.

Content from 49 Russian state-controlled media accounts was labeled, and six networks and 204 accounts globally were removed for coordinated efforts to influence public opinion and mislead users about their identities.
