TikTok Plans European Transparency and Accountability Center

It will start out virtual but eventually be located in Ireland

TikTok revealed plans for a European Transparency and Accountability Center Tuesday, modeled after the U.S. version that it debuted last July.

The new European Transparency and Accountability Center will start out virtually due to the pandemic, and TikTok said it hopes to begin offering virtual tours in June, with plans for a physical center to be established in Ireland and fully operational by next year.

Once the center is up and running, experts will be able to learn about the video creation platform’s moderation systems, policies and processes, including:

  • How TikTok uses technology to keep its community safe.
