TikTok Tuesday introduced auto captions to help members of its community who are deaf or hard of hearing better enjoy videos on its platform and gain more context on those videos.
The video creation platform’s auto captions feature automatically generates subtitles, enabling viewers to either read or listen to content.


Creators can select auto captions on the editing page after they upload or record videos, and they can also edit the text that appears in those captions once they are generated.
