The Facebook Family Gears Up for the Paralympic Games

The Paralympic Games begin in Tokyo Aug. 24, and Facebook teamed up with the International Paralympic Committee on initiatives across its family of applications and platforms.

A hub on Facebook will be accessible starting Aug. 23 by clicking the #Paralympics or #Tokyo2020 hashtags, and it will include: highlights from official broadcast partners; a Paralympic Games quiz; posts from friends; and team and athlete overviews.

An augmented reality effect on the @Paralympics Instagram account will enable people to mirror the movements of official Paralympics mascot Someity, and earn AR medals based on their performance.

The @WeThe15 Instagram account will also feature an AR effect helping fans promote #WeThe15,
