Swiping Up for Links in Instagram Stories to Go Away Aug. 30

Instagram will remove the ability for users to swipe up on Stories in order to access external links provided by the Story creator, replacing that capability starting Aug. 30 with a new link sticker.

The swipe-up capability had only been available to verified profiles or users with at least 10,000 followers.

Instagram began testing link stickers in June for users of all types, and not just those who had access to the swipe-up capability. However, the link sticker being rolled out Aug.
