Rodale Inc. Names Lori Burgess Publisher of Prevention

NEW YORK, Apr 23, 2012—Rodale Inc. today announced that Lori Burgess has been named Publisher, Prevention, effective immediately. In this role, she will lead print and digital advertising sales and marketing efforts across the brand, reporting to Chris Lambiase, SVP, Publishing Director, Rodale Inc.

“Lori is a seasoned sales and marketing leader with an outstanding record of achievement across multiple platforms,” said Lambiase. “She is an expert in knowing and understanding the advertising landscape, and she will help steer the brand to better connect with both clients and customers.”

Most recently, Burgess was Publisher of The Hollywood Reporter, where she helped transform the brand into a multi-platform entertainment media authority. Her many accomplishments include launching THR.com, introducing the new, oversized, weekly edition of the magazine, and delivering impressive increases in both print and digital ad revenues.

Prior to The Hollywood Reporter, Burgess was Publisher, OK! Magazine and OKMAGAZINE.com from October 2008 to April 2010, where she broke more than 70 new advertiser brands in print and online and helped develop a TV partnership with the TV Guide Network. She previously served as SVP, Publishing Director at Niche Media, and has held Publisher titles at House & Garden, ELLE, Mademoiselle and Seventeen.

Prevention, the nation’s leading healthy lifestyle brand, posted 11% gains on newsstands in the second half of 2011.

Burgess, who was named Advertising Age’s Publisher of the Year in 1999, is a graduate of Penn State University where she majored in Journalism and Business. She resides in Summit, NJ.
