Reddit Acquires Natural Language Processing Company MeaningCloud Europe

The moves follows its deal to snap up machine learning platform Spell last month

Reddit scooped up natural language processing company MeaningCloud Europe with the goal of strengthening its machine language proficiencies and understanding of unstructured data.

The MeaningCloud team joined Reddit and will support ML projects across its ads, product and safety teams, and the company’s office in Madrid will become Reddit’s first office in Spain.

The deal follows Reddit’s acquisition of ML platform Spell last month.

Reddit said in a blog post, “On r/reddit, we recently shared our thoughts on how the vast majority of people come to Reddit with intention, not for attention.
