Record-breaking Year Thus Far for M&A Activity

Mergers and acquisitions activity among media and information companies through the first three quarters of 2007 occurred at a record-setting pace in 2007, according to New York-based M&A firm The Jordan, Edmiston Group Inc. (JEGI). Through September, M&A deals in the media and information industries numbered 637 transactions amounting to more than $95 billion in value—a 111-percent increase in the total value of deals completed during the first three quarters of 2006.
