Pew: Republican Members of Congress Post More About Asian Countries, People Than Democrats

The bulk of posts from members of Congress that mentioned China in recent years have come from a relatively small number of Republicans, according to a new analysis from Pew Research Center.

Researchers from the think tank examined every Facebook post and tweet by voting members of the House of Representatives and Senate from Jan. 1, 2016, through April 30, 2021, identifying posts that directly mentioned Asian place names (China, Vietnam, for example) and people (Chinese, Vietnamese), while ruling out those referencing groups of Asian American origin (Chinese American, Vietnamese American).
