Fewer adults in the U.S. are getting news from social media sites often or sometimes than in 2020, according to a recent survey by Pew Research Center, with Facebook seeing a more dramatic decrease than the norm, while TikTok bucked the trend and posted an uptick.

The think tank surveyed 11,178 U.S. adults from July 26 through Aug. 8, and 48% said they get news from social platforms often or sometimes, down from 53% in 2020.
