Meta vice president of global communications John Pinette left the company last Friday.

Meghan Bobrowsky of The Wall Street Journal reported that Pinette alerted his colleagues about his departure in an internal post, writing, “Today will be my last day at Meta. I know the team will continue to thrive as you do some of the most important—and most difficult—work in communications.”

A spokesperson for Meta said vp of international communications Chris Norton will assume Pinette’s role on an interim basis, adding, “We are thankful for John’s positive contributions during an intense and significant time in the company’s history.
