Nearly a year after Meta announced its plans to pursue auditory products, the company appears to be easing up on audio.

A Facebook source told Bloomberg the company is diverting its focus from audio formats and instead homing in on online shopping and events. Facebook teased an audio format of its stories called Soundbites and put podcasts on its platform in April 2021. In June of last year, Facebook launched the Clubhouse-like Live Audio Rooms.
