Dark mode, which debuted for flagship messaging application Messenger in March 2019, was added to the iOS version of Messenger Kids, with Android to be onboarded shortly.

Also on iOS with Android to follow, voice effects can now be added to voice messages. The feature debuts with five options: ghost, gorilla, mouse, robot and talking into a shell.

Finally, two-player games can be started on chat threads via mobile iOS devices (again, Android to come).
