Mastercard’s Mimi Alemayehou Joins Twitter’s Board of Directors

Mastercard senior vice president for public-private partnerships Mimi Alemayehou was appointed to Twitter’s board of directors as an independent director.

In a corresponding move, Elliott Management managing partner Jesse Cohn will leave the board after serving for one year.

Alemayehou currently leads Mastercard’s partnerships with private foundations, international development organizations and nongovernmental organizations with the objective of building commercially sustainable digital ecosystems that benefit everyone by advancing financial inclusion, transparency, support to humanitarian response and economic development.

She has more than 20 years of investment and finance experience across emerging markets, with a strong focus on Africa.
