By default, when someone hosts a Live video on Instagram, other users will be able to comment on the livestream as they watch. However, creators can also turn off commenting on their live videos, if they’d like.

Step 1: Once you’ve begun broadcasting an Instagram Live video, tap the three dots at the right end of the “Comment” text-entry field at the bottom of the screen.
